About

StefanoStefano Forenza, works as web developer and is currently based in Milan.

I work mainly on PHP and strive to make today something better than the day before. I’ve also learned Python and I’m the co-founder of the Rapache project.

Things I like in development:

  • OO Programming
  • Saving small libs for later re-use
  • Simplicity (where applicable)
  • The chance to learn every day
  • Having goals

Things I don’t like:

Is the rapache project still alive? #rapache is dead, #rapache-devel has one person in it and the last branch that was worked on was 27 weeks ago (https://code.launchpad.net/rapache)

    What’s going on? I loved that project…

    Hey Stefano,
I started digging to figure out what was up with Rapache. I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 and now Rapache doesn’t work. It just freezes up. I then started wondering if that was being worked on to only find the same thing Brett did.
This really sucks to see this project die, because it made life so much simpler. Now my server is jacked back to old-school configuring of Apache instead of the beautiful work Rapache once did. Please, please revive it!

    Peace out my friend,

    David

    Hello guys,
Rapache is not dead, just frozen. That’s just because of me lacking time and good will to work on it.
That’s not necessarily bad, it just means it won’t be improved for now, but it will still keep on working and be useful for everybody who wish to use it.

Having freeze times is pretty normal for a project who has just 2 contributors (me and Jason Tayler).

As for the bug on Ubuntu 9.04: we couldn’t find what caused it, and guess it may related to changes in the python-gksu. A workaround has been found, but sadly, nobody cared to patch the existing ubuntu package to ship it to our existing users.
To make Rapache work on Ubuntu 9.04, see the instructions in this bug:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rapache/+bug/346788

That will make rapache ask for the admin password at start time. Ugly, but works.
Also if you’re good at debian packaging (or know someone who is), creating a debdiff and then ask for a SRU would help the whole lot of users that didn’t know where to look for a work around.

As a side note, before having these issue, we didn’t even know people were actually using rapache :-) .

I have a great deal of information about David “Lefty” Schlesinger aka “Stonemirror”, professional troll, astroturfer and honest to god part time dildo shop owner. This is information he does not want you to see, but he can’t hide all the undeniable evidence he has left in his 17 years of criminal harassment on the web and IRL ie he has subpoenaed court documents like marriage licenses to further his stalking of entire extended families. He even calls frail elderly people late at night to lie and state he is a police officer, and that their grandchildren have been found dead!

some of this information is on this thread

    http://thebeezspeaks.blogspot.com/2009/07/free-open-source-software-evangelist.html

with headers and who-is to more than prove Schlesinger is the author of menacing emails, threats of violence and sexist articles many times worse than what he accuses Stallman of. RMS endorsed this evidence as an appropriate compliant to the Gnome Foundation, that email is available as well with headers.
