If you read my April fools post you may have read about this fool:
Took me a while to figure out it was a fool. This guy claimed that, out of boredom, he started to port Tomboy to c++, and that he found porting to be quite easy. Definitely a good fool !
Well, you know what ? It was not a fool. With a follow-up Hubert announced the 0.10 version of Gnote (and one day after the 0.11).
The most ironical thing, is that his project is born out of boredom, after getting layed out from Novell. I like the project ![]()

UPDATE: PPA available ! Kudos to Vadim !

I made a PPA just for it (yay for separate ppas):

@Vadim P.: now, that’s what I call an helpful comment ! updating the post !
Yay!
/me wants the same for F-Spot, minus the crashes
Sweet, I really liked Tomboy’s wiki-like functionality, but wouldn’t accept Mono on my systems. Gonna have to give Gnote a go.
I really hope that F-Spot did the same.
I’ve not found a single good replacement for it in the Gnome platform.
@Ferk: i’d like a gnome-do’s docky replacement
You don’t like mono because it is Microsoft stuff, or you just don’t like it becouse it is crap?
I’m just curious
@brabadu: I don’t like the Novell-Microsoft deal.
Check out zim if you guys like the wiki like features of tomboy. It is an awesome little note taking application. Check it out: http://zim-wiki.org/
P.S. No, I am note in any way affiliated with the app, I just think it is well done.
