Although I am of the opinion that Synaptic with a bit of a polish and tweak could be the last word in software installation systems. What gets me is that in fact, 3 of the 5 wishes are actually on the verge of delivery for Karmic. And the other two don't make sense, even as wishlist items.
No4. Awesome Cloud Backup? Coming in the Form of Ubuntu-One. I'm using the beta and it works great.
No.5 Video Editing App? A video editing package is in the works. My elfin spies tells me it's going to be superb.
No2. Integrate Dual Booting and Virtualisation? Why? What's wrong with just making better native apps? Seems like a waste of time and an admission of defeat to me.
No3. Right Brain Thinking? Erm, what are they asking for. I've read the section several times. I get that they want a new and shiny GUI, less input more output blah blah blah. But I'm no clearer of what they say is wrong with what we have or how they propose it is improved. I don't expect them to write the code, but hell, at least give the devs a chance by saying what it is they actually want.

I didn’t rate the article really.
