How to write a simple plugin for Empathy/Telepathy ?

Can anyone point me to a simple tutorial about how to write a simple plugin for Empathy ?

What I am looking for is a tutorial on how to make new contacts appear on Empathy’s contact list, send simple data and make new data appear as a new message from one of the contacts.

Preferred language is Python.

Any URL ? ;-)

This seems like a great time to subscribe my RSS !

I would like to know this too!

The people in #telepathy channel on freenode turned out to be kind and helpful.
They pointed me to telepathy-butterfly, which is implemented in python. Now, that’s not a tutorial, but it could be nice sample code to give a look to.

If you’re on ubuntu, downloading the source is as simple as apt-get source telepathy-butterfly
