5 dollars to support Linux gaming

Penumbra screenshot

For this week end only, you can purchase the complete trilogy by Penumbra for just 5 dollars.

  • Overture
  • Black Plague
  • Requiem

All the games have been ported to Linux (so no Wine or anything) and feature a -- reportedly -- advanced physic engine. You can read a review of the Windows version here.

So, if you’re a gamer and want to support the cause of Linux gaming, other than having 3 more high level games to play on your Linux workstation, consider buying a copy. It’s 5 dollars / 3.78 euros.

More info and source here.

This seems like a great time to subscribe my RSS !

Are you sure that they have been ported TO GNU/Linux, and not just build for all major plattforms?

Anyways, I bough it earlier today, and am a bit prouder being a Swede.

    Cheers.

I played the Black Plague demo for a bit today. This game looks pretty good. It seems to run well on my XP2500+ system quite well, so you don’t need a brand new computer to play it, either (it still has to be beefy, though).

I bought the games, too, to spport them. The games run without problems on Jaunty with Ati 9850 graphic.

I also just tried to made this public on our local (German) Ubuntu-Forums, but my entry got deleted without comment. So I guess supporting Linux games is not a very high priority for the Ubuntu officials. Or Helios has been banned from Ubuntu forums cause I linked to his blog entry :-)

Fine, buying. Though I’m all too pre-occupied with http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/ atm.

Well, I wouldn’t mind to buy these games for that price, but I can’t even upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 thanks to ATI / fglrx… :(

Wonderful, thank you! I just purchased the game and it’s downloading.

Please keep us informed of more inexpensive and wonderful 3D Linux games!
