The costitutional court of France decided the 3 strikes law is just crap.

    This is good news. Jamendo actually rewards you when you download its music at each successive stage! Although I’m not entirely in the favour of free music, but curtailing people’s freedoms like this was an absolute outrage. Nice to hear that this law has been repealed. BTW, can you make an edit pointing to a translated version of this page (via google translate or something) so that people who don’t speak French can also understand it? And also, wanted to know your opinions on Piracy!

    @Parry, my stance on piracy is very simple. Piracy is an abuse. In many cases, though, it’s generated by other, worse, abuses (such as monopoly, lobbying, lack of competitive market).
    iTunes (which is an abuse itself btw) has been able to fight piracy effectively by simply lowering the price of the songs.
    Windows, Photoshop and many other kinds of proprietary software also enjoy the effect of piracy as a mean to spread and create a culture.
